General info Character name: Bookworm Battletag: Sophia#22457 (not a girl IRL, sorry boys) Race, class, server: Human Mage, Argent Dawn Talent spec: Whatever is best, currently Fire. For how long have you been playing World of Warcraft? Way too fucking long. I started playing this game after a Runescape friend of mine dumped that Java monstrosity for World of Warcraft, back when classic was current. I had to beg my mom (I was like 13 at the time) to let me buy the game, scoured the entire city for a copy only to get home and find out it required a subscription. Scoured the city again, for a game card. 15 years later and I'm still addicted to this awful game. I failed college, I'm still unemployed, and a virgin but at least I've made internet friends, am I right? Total played time: 450 days on this mage, but that's the tip of the iceberg.  Guild and Raid Info Previous guilds and your reason(s) for leaving them: Currently I'm in Fruit Basket, a 3-day raiding guild on Argent Dawn that transferred here during EP, they're pretty casual about the game and don't take progression super serious and I would love to tell you that that is the reason why I am leaving this guild. Unfortunately, that would be a lie and the real reason I'm trying to escape out of this guild is a lot more complicated. I've been here for two weeks now and already I've witnessed more 'WTF' moments then I have in most guilds combined. The tier started off with a 15 minute+ speech from the Guild Master. We got this state of the union style address on how he's happy we are here for another tier, how he is grateful for our loyalty, and how he hopes for our success in the raid to come. I thought it was weird but whatever, maybe he's a little quirky. After that, things rapidly got worse and I'll detail it all for your reading pleasure. You might decline me (likely) but at least you'll be able to have a laugh at the weird shit I've seen: [*] You are not allowed to give people pointers or quick instructions during a fight. Telling someone to stand in the path of the football on Xanesh will get you told off. [*] We once had a brief argument on tactics on Discord. This guild's way of stopping a discussion is very interesting. Basically, someone in the guild suddenly starts to count down to ten really loudly and slowly, which is apparently meant to "calm people down" and stop arguments. I can tell you no one thinks this works. [*] Over-analyzing the fight after every wipe. Instead of just accepting someone made a mistake, the guild spends a massive amount of time discussing what went wrong and trying to come up with a way to prevent a mistake from happening again. Instead of, you know, just giving it more practice. [*] The guild master has never heard of the word 'brevity', everytime he speaks I go make a cup of coffee or take a piss and when I'm back at the computer he's still talking. If I get accepted into IS, I will really miss the frequent breaks, so this is a double edged sword. [*] Getting told to "slow down DPS" on Muat's shield, but at the same time the raid leader also tells us we're going to use Bloodlust/Heroism on Maut's shield. [*] Speaking of the Raid Leader, we apparently have one but you'd be forgiven for thinking we do not. He has the presence of a fly on the wall. He speaks quietly, and I would hesitate to call him anything more than a glorified vocal version of BigWigs. How did you hear about Inner Sanctum? You guys were pretty famous back in the days. I saw your guild on WoWProgress and was surprised you were still around. Why Inner Sanctum and why should we accept YOU? On paper, you shouldn't accept me. I have only ever gotten cutting edge once in my life, have only raided in pretty low tier guilds that never manage to close out the tier on mythic, and my logs are nothing special, not to speak of the lack of mythic logs to show you. On the other hand, I hope you will give me a chance to prove myself. You should accept me because how often do you find someone so dedicated to the game that he's been willing to suffer through disorganized guilds. I'm a veteran, I've seen shit, Argent Dawn is a special realm and I've survived it. All the weird rumors you've heard about this realm are true. In all seriousness, I'm a very ambitious person. I've not been able to pursue my goals in this game for a long time I simply didn't have the time to commit to anything more serious than casual guilds lacking in ambition (contrary to what I said earlier, I've been to university and I have had a job!) However, I take all my hobbies very seriously and I would like to kick my World of Warcraft career to the next level. I want to start getting Cutting Edge, I want to start getting Famed Slayer achievements. I want to throw away even more of my precious life and pursue goals in this game with a group of like minded players. I feel like the guilds I'm in right now have stopped giving me room to grow. I know that in more serious, better guilds the atmosphere is different and I hope that attitude will rub off on me too. You have no reason to take me right now. I have no logs to show you of any relevant mythic content, my experience is poor. Instead, you should accept me for my mentality and dedication to the game, accept me because I'm willing to take the risk to transfer to your realm and prove myself. Do you know anyone from Inner Sanctum in-game or irl already? If yes, who and will they vouch for you? Nope. What is your raid experience (on any character and including past experience)? All experience is while the content was current. I do not count kills after a new tier/expansion releases. Battle for Azeroth 11/12 HC Ny'alotha (should be 12/12 after tonight's raid) 7/8M EP (on this character: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/chara ... awn/cassey) 6/9M BoD 3/8M Uldir Legion 9/11M Antorus 6/9M ToS Only HC in NH/EN, didn't raid. Warlords of Draenor Fully cleared HFC mythic, but Archimonde only in pre-patch. Mists of Pandaria 12/14 Heroic/Mythic SoO 8/12 Heroic ToT 6/6 Heroic MSV (cutting edge) Cataclysm 8/8 DS Heroic 6/7 Firelands heroic Wrath of the Lich King 11/12 ICC 25HC Ulduar: Up to Mimiron hard mode. Sarth+3 Drakes on both 10 and 25. The Burning Crusade SWP fully cleared pre-3.0. BT fully cleared. Same for the rest, really. I was pretty hardcore back then. Classic I was 13-14 years old and I think I cleared Deadmines maybe. What do you expect from raiding in Inner Sanctum I am hoping to find an organized raiding environment with people who are serious about progression. I also hope to meet a lot of great people, make friends and that we can continue playing together for a long time to come. I would really like to be part of a stable environment, most guilds I've joined last maybe 1-2 tiers. Do you have a microphone and are you willing to use it during raids? My guild made me get a microphone in TBC and I think those people regret their decision to this day. Can you attend all of our raid times listed in the rules? How often do you expect to miss a raid? (note we have an 80% attendance requirement and do track raider attendance). I don't miss raids. I don't have anything better to do. How much do you play outside of raiding times? Enough that I postpone real life chores too much. I'm very active. How would you describe yourself as a raider? I pride myself on being a very consistent player. I am not a DPS rock star and I doubt I will become that, I have boomer APM so I cannot keep up with the advanced shit some of the best players do these days. I make up for that with consistency though, I always log in high purple rankings. It's more than DPS, I am consistent in fight mechanics too. If there's something that requires high personal responsibility, you can trust on me to not fuck that up once I've learned how to do it. What addons do you use to improve your raiding performance? The usual shit, Weak Auras, BigWigs, Exorsus Raid Tools, Details. Please supply a screen shot to your UI: I'll edit this post later with a screenshot from tonight's raid. But my UI is very basic. I like to keep the amount of addons to a minimum so it mostly just looks like the default UI with some extras.
