General info
Character name: Grimhildr-Medivh. Old main: Fjin - Silvermoon.
Battletag: Fjin#21605
Race, class, server: Female Dwarf, Mage, Medivh
Talent spec: Frost, currently working to get Arcane up to speed

For how long have you been playing World of Warcraft?
Started late Wrath. Been serious about the game since ~end of MoP.

Total played time: Oof. 21 days on Mage, 14 since BFA hit. Few days on various alts. 30 days on Priest, main from Wrath/Cata. 160 days on Monk, main from MoP to BFA launch.

Guild and raid info
Previous guilds and your reason(s) for leaving them: On Mage, none except a 3-man guild with IRL friends. On Monk, I had a short stint in Balanced on Silvermoon, but never raided seriously with them. Before that, I played in Origin for 2-3 months before leaving due to difference in ideas over how people should be treated.

How did you hear about Inner Sanctum?

WoWProgress. I've been looking for a place to play, prioritizing Silvermoon as I knew the realm and still have my monk sitting on it, and Inner Sanctum looked like a promising guild.

Why Inner Sanctum and why should we accept YOU?

Inner Sanctum, because it seems like one of the best choices when applying my personal restrictions to the available guilds. I cannot raid 5-6 times per week due to real life situations, and still enjoy and look for a competitive and progression-aimed mindset when playing.

I think you should accept me because I've shown in previous PvE situations that I understand the game and the mindset required for progression. The examples I'd like to give are:
- Realm best times on all Challenge mode dungeons during WoD on the realms Aggra-GrimBatol and Medivh-Suramar
- Orange logs throughout Antorus on my Windwalker, including several decent parses:

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/B3AFbfpy9W6dwZr2#fight=22&type=damage-done

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/zkaC87HGNjp6XPdq#fight=22&type=damage-done
- Very strong Mythic+ experience. First on Monk, finishing at 77th Windwalker worldwide and 2nd Windwalker on EU Alliance side during season 7.3.2; now on mage, currently holding the 7th spot world on Raider.io. I am aware that is flattered due to WorldFirst raiders not currently pushing, but it should hopefully reflect some understanding of the class.
- Good understanding of the theory behind the game, currently a vet in the Peak of Serenity discord and involved in theorycrafting/APL work for Windwalker in Legion and BFA.

Do you know anyone from Inner Sanctum in-game or irl already? If yes, who and will they vouch for you?
Unlikely. May have interacted with some of your monks on Discord.

What is your raid experience (on any character and including past experience)?
Pugged most heroic raids, with Curve on G'huun, Archimonde, Xavius, KJ and Argus.
9/11 M Antorus. Missed Aggramar kill due to RL issues, left guild before Argus kill.
Pugged 8/8 HC Uldir. Logs here https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/eu/medivh/grimhildr#. Not satisfied with my own performance, hoping to improve everything up to purple/orange this week.

What do you expect from raiding in Inner Sanctum?
Clear the raids as they come by, raid without feeling bad about logging on, increase my mastery of the spec I'm playing. A good atmosphere in the raid - focus during pulls, banter outside of it.

Do you have a microphone and are you willing to use it during raids?
Yes, and gladly. Coming from M+, I am aware communication is crucial, although there's obviously less talking as a raider than in M+.

Can you attend all of our raid times listed in the rules? How often do you expect to miss a raid? (note we have an 80% attendance requirement and do track raider attendance). Be aware! In BfA We're returning back to 3 days a week.
Should not be an issue. Occasional RL things will come up and will be reported in-time.

How much do you play outside of raiding times?
A fair bit, I enjoy pushing Mythic+ and may commit some nights/weekends towards that.

How would you describe yourself as a raider?
I think I'm solid/dependable. Can take on a solo task and perform it consistently. Decent at making and tuning WeakAuras/UI elements to improve my play.

What addons do you use to improve your raiding performance?
WeakAuras, BigWigs, Details!, ERT, Gnosis. ElvUI or Kui/SUF for frames, been changing around on those trying to see what works out best. Trying out Plater too.

Note that I'll likely be playing, and thus the talents, trinkets, Azerite pieces or trait choices may look off.

Please supply combat logs of some of your previous kills: See above.

Please supply a link to the armory of any relevant alts you're playing:
Barely relevant right now but can be picked up within a few resets - https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/chara ... rmoon/Fjin

Other than that, briefly about myself. Engineering student in second year of Masters, fluent in English, Dutch and French. Some interests aside from WoW are speedruns, roguelikes, debate/public speaking and philosophy. Big fan of banter/jokes, not a big fan of rage or a careless/negative attitude.

If there's anything else you lads and lasses want to know, ask away. I'm most likely to respond on Discord at Fjin#8328.

Did first 6 bosses, sadly got killed by a loose add on Zul and got a third Liquify at 6% on Vectis. Other than that, decently happy with the logs, although my trinket/talent choices and CD usage timings still need some work.

I recognise your name, but recruiting you would take a punt as you've been only raiding in sporadic times. Why have you decided to go to the ways of hardcore raiding now?

Also, curious for : Before that, I played in Origin for 2-3 months before leaving due to difference in ideas over how people should be treated.

I'm well known for being quite brutal. Clarify this point.

I've got a lot more time and flexibility than previously, due to living abroad and alone this year. Furthermore, after having improved during Legion, I believe I'm at a point where I can join a guild of this level without feeling like I'd be a burden. I also believe raiding at a higher level can help me improve further in other aspects of the game, just like playing M+ at a high level has improved my raid performance.

I think going off on people when they're not playing properly or can't understand what's going wrong is fine, and emotions during prog can lead to things you don't necessarily intended to say. That being said, what I saw in Origin wasn't something I enjoyed. I do not mean to talk shit about previous groups in this application, but misunderstanding of logs and inability to discuss what (or who) is causing wipes, leading to wasted prog nights, played a role. Add in building the roster based on favourites rather than best performing members, and it wasn't a good fit. To prevent this from sounding like salt - I have no issue with benching or getting benched, but raiding a boss for 4 hours with the same 2-3 people making mistakes when there's players available on the bench can be frustrating.

Critism on ability is fine, but in my opinion shouldn't be aimed at the person. In other words, calling people bad or dogshit, sure, I do that all the time myself. Going for race-specific slurs because someone that messed up a mechanic has a certain accent, not my thing.

Hi Grim, we're still in the process of making a decision on your application. Just giving you a heads up

Hi Grim,

We're declining, but that's not a slight on your character. I think with an additional tier under your belt, you'll fit right in here.

You're welcome to join socially, or to raid with our Fossil Squad, or for us normal/heroic if you want to get the raiding experience.

Your call.

James

Hi lads/lasses. First of all, cheers for taking the application seriously, I appreciate that. I also understand the decision, if you believe experience is important - I clearly lack some consistent raiding exp.

That being said, I'm going to decline the offer to join socially, as I don't think that situation would fit me. I'm sure you're a fun group to be around, but transferring realms for a social spot is a bit out there for me. Thank you for your time, and good luck on prog!
