(application to the main raiding team)
Character Torren - Emerald Dream, human mage (frost)
Battletag: Torrq#2204
For how long have you been playing World of Warcraft?I've started in Vanilla, June 2005. With total played time of 850 days (174 days and some change this expansion, my main only).
Guild and raid infoPrevious guilds and your reason(s) for leaving them:Ok, many of them don't exist any more, but here goes, chronologically: Dawnraiders, Spirit Odyssey, Bridgeburners, Angels of Ares, Headhunters - all of them on Emerald Dream.
I dislike change in general and I prefer to stay in a guild for a long time. Which is probably the reason I stayed on Emerald Dream for all these years (since Vanilla) - even though it's a pretty dead server progress-wise. I was very close to leaving at one point, when I wanted to try a more serious raiding approach. I applied to and was accepted by - guess what - Inner Sanctum. Back when you guys were in the top 5 worldwide. But when it came to transferring I just couldn't bear the idea of leaving my closest WoW-friends and the server I considered home. (Don't worry, won't be an issue this time! There is no one else left here, I just have to transfer if I ever want to raid on a serious level). So yes - when I changed guilds it was almost always due to the guild stopping with mythic raiding and going social.
Much like happened in Legion. Due to real life reasons I had to take a two month break when we were working on Mistress in Tomb. I came back only to see the ruins of the raiding team, some people retired, some stopped raiding, most just changed servers, bleeding raiding population on ED even more. I considered changing servers then, but I thought - Legion is close to an end, I'm not in a rush to clear the content, might as well join one of the two guilds still raiding mythic (even though they were average at best). It might not have been the most fortunate decision, as both my current guild - Headhunters and the other one - stopped with mythic raiding after one mythic Argus kill. And since I was on the bench that night (a lot of bench time for ranged, as both raid leaders were ranged, so there were simply few spots) I missed out on the kill. We tried for a re-kill but it was too much of an ask for some people. Raid leaders stepped down and I here I am - finally forced to leave the server where I've spent a good portion of the last 13 years. So I'm really hoping to find a stable raiding environment moving forward.
How did you hear about Inner Sanctum?I heard about you ages ago, like I said - almost joined at some point (was mid Wrath times). I always had very high opinion of you (I've heard good things from a friend who was a member, long ago) and when I was looking through wowprogress.com in search of a new potential guild - I was happy to see you're looking for a mage.
Why Inner Sanctum and why should we accept YOU?I would like to find a place, which is stable in terms of guild longevity, steady progress and people mature enough to strike the right balance between raiding and real life. I would also like to step up the raiding level, as with every expansion the player base on Emerald Dream is thinner and thinner, resulting in rather mediocre raiding teams to choose from.
Why me? I've always believed in doing things properly or not at all. Hence - I've always been one of the most reliable and best-performing players on the team. I'm always prepared, with optimal enchants and gear. I do my research when it comes to class theorycrafting (altered-time mage community and its discord), proper stats and talents (simcraft/raidbots). I can go to great lengths to achieve what I've set my eyes on.
Do you know anyone from Inner Sanctum in-game or irl already? If yes, who and will they vouch for you?I used to know Macci (he raided with IS for quite a while, not any more, I believe).
What is your raid experience (on any character and including past experience)?Over the past 13 years I skipped maybe 3 tiers - other than that I raided content current at the time. All the way from Molten Core to Argus. I had a few breaks from WoW but it was never for longer than a few months. Patch I remember most fondly are perhaps the Ulduar times. But it might be just the nostalgia factor. Tiers that I did miss out on were: second half of Sunwell, Dragon Soul, Siege of Orgrimmar.
Do you have a microphone and are you willing to use it during raids?Of course.
Can you attend all of our raid times listed in the rules? That would be no issue whatsoever. I miss raids very occasionally - only when something unexpected happens.
How much do you play outside of raiding times? It varies and really depends on the amount of content available. It can range from 'all the time' to 'log on and send followers on missions to inflate the economy some more'. But when there are ways of improving the power of my character (realistically, not hoping for crazy titanforging), I play a lot. To give you some example of my dedication verging on being OCD at times: I farmed so much AP in the first months of Legion that I had double the amount of the second guy on the server. Or a more distant memory: I farmed exalted reputation with Shen'dralar back in Vanilla, when it meant nothing else but a filled reputation bar (well before achievements and the Insane FoS). So yes - I'm willing to invest the time when I find it rewarding/fun.
How would you describe yourself as a raider?I'm the guy you are happy to see be targetted by a mechanic (even though I might not be so happy about) as you know you can count on me not messing it up. I'm a quick learner and I do my job. Which is mostly dealing damage and handling mechanics.
And I like it this way - somewhere around tier 5 times I got involved in helping with raid leading, taking more and more responsibilities until I finally became main raid leader for Black Temple and the first half of Sunwell. Then I took a break (for RL reasons) and never came back to the officer roles. But this experience has taught be how difficult and stressful this job can be - and never really complained about the raid leaders I had, rather appreciating the job they were doing (usually decent).
tldr: prepared, efficient, making few mistakes
What addons do you use to improve your raiding performance?Nothing too fancy: Big Wigs, Weak Auras for cooldown tracking/specific encounter stuff, Details!

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/ ... artition=1(the logs I'm linking aren't very current. They are mostly our progress through Antorus + hundreds of wipes on Aggramar + Argus. Kills on which (both) I missed due to being benched (normal rotation, few ranged spots available). But you will be able to look through all these wipes. Antorus progress with Headhunters might give you some idea as to my performance, back when the content was still fresh. Other than that there might be some random heroic pugs I joined)
Alts: alts matter to me only as garrison, order hall, ship slaves - I have 10 of them, but all they do is pump free gold from missions into my vault.

Info about you and what you do when not playing WoW:I would say I'm a rather level-headed and mature. I really like when people are professional, efficient and witty - doing their job, but having some fun too. I I also really enjoy intense work out. You can clear your head and pump some serotonine into the system. I like word play, listening to film music and riding a bike. Sometimes all three at the same time! Crazy, I know.
